How it works
I wanted my home screen to show what I care about, so I took the open source Olauncher by Tanuj and customized it for myself.
I kept making tweaks and trying out different features and styles. Olauncher itself is by Tanuj and its contributors, under GPLv3.
What it does
- GitHub grid beside the clock, showing the last 30 days.
- Steps, sleep and screen time on the home screen.
- Today's time beside each home app.
- Now playing line with previous, play and next.
- Next calendar event left today.
- Year progress bar at the bottom.
- Apps arranged in folders, with a Most used list.
- Search shortcut: type #appname and a query, and it goes straight into that app.
The # search shortcut, from X
What stuck
How cool it is that we can personalize everything, and share it with the world too.
