How it works
Hussain and Pargat got this iPod touch 3rd generation from Japan. It runs iOS 5.1.1.
Over five late nights after office, I jailbroke it and made it useful again.
What it does
- Games from IPA files. Subway Surfers and Temple Run were the first things I installed.
- A Game Boy emulator that runs games.
- A Nothing OS style theme: dot icons for 35 apps, dark dock, new lock screen and a dot-matrix clock font.
- The modern web, through a TLS fix and new root certificates. My own site loads.
- YouTube working again through TubeRepair.
- Two apps of my own for iOS 5: Hello World, a QR code card, and ArtDump, which saves stock system images for restyling.

What stuck
Five late nights, many dead ends. Last note: "I'm happy. That yt worked."
